From
1928 up to the end of his days (except between 1951 and 1955, when
he led his own groups) Hodges was one of the indisputable props of
Duke Ellington's Orchestra. He excelled at the moment of improvisation
with surprising ideas, and a melodious, exquisite and lyric sound.
Saxophonist`s followed his example. BUY
